Provider of high-performance cleanroom facilities for the pharmaceutical industry, AES Clean Technology, is celebrating two of its customers’ success at this year’s IPSE Facility of the Year Awards (FOYA), having designed and built the cleanrooms in both Genentech and Nexus Pharmaceuticals’ award-winning facilities.
The ISPE FOYA awards celebrate state-of-the-art projects that use new, innovative technologies to improve the quality of drug products and reduce the cost of producing high-quality medicines.
Having delivered cleanrooms for two of this year’s winners, Grant Merrill, Chief Commercial Officer of AES Clean Technology, said: ”Our Cleanrooms play a fundamental role in developing scientific breakthroughs in life-saving therapies going to market. Genentech, a biotechnology company dedicated to pursuing groundbreaking science to discover and develop medicines for people with serious and life-threatening diseases, was crowned winner of the Pharma 4.0™ category. Judges highlighted Genetech’s facility as having “embedded technical and operational innovation” and “fully integrated automation, robotics, and operations management systems”. AES is proud to have been an integral part of this success, designing and constructing the cleanroom within the facility to ensure it meets the Pharma 4.0™ criteria.
Nexus Pharmaceuticals, is a company specializing in innovative processes to make difficult-to-manufacture injectable drugs easier to use, less labor-intensive, and more streamlined in practice. Judges recognized Nexus’ facility as “impressive and in line with current industry standards”. AES is proud to have been a partner in the success of the project by providing a cleanroom facility that continuously protects the process of formulating and filling sterile drug products.
